Albert Dunalewicz

Albert Joseph Dunalewicz, age 93, was born on September 11, 1927 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and passed away on August 19th, 2021.
Albert was the youngest and last surviving of seven children. He became a machinist's apprentice when he was 16 years old, but joined the 82nd Airborne to train as a paratrooper in 1945. After leaving the Service, he moved to California, where he met and married his wife Marie in 1959. They raised three daughters in Grandview, Missouri and Al worked as a machinist at Twin City Tool in Olathe, Kansas. Al loved his work, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and travel. After retirement, he and Marie traveled all over the country, spending winters in Texas, where they enjoyed fishing in the Gulf and made frequent trips to Mexico to find the best flea markets.
He was predeceased by Marie, his parents and all of his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughters Martha Dunalewicz, Linda Dunalewicz and Carol Wood (Jeff) and four grandchildren, Sarah and David Dunalewicz and Alexander and Reese Wood.
Al's beautiful and gentle soul was never diminished throughout his battle with Alzheimer's and shone through to everyone who met him.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28 at Longview Funeral Home in Kansas City, Missouri, with services at 2 p.m. Burial at Longview Cemetery and a reception to follow also at Longview Funeral Home.
