Allen C. Hartley, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, left this world on May 16, 2026, in Raytown, Missouri, after a courageous battle with COPD and cancer, compounded by a recent bout of pneumonia that brought him into hospice care. Born on March 19, 1946, in Butler, Missouri, Allen's life was marked by unwavering dedication to his family, humor that brightened every room, and a heart ready to help anyone in need.

Sandra Smith and Allen were married on January 8, 1972, and celebrated their 50th anniversary with family and friends only four years ago. They were together through all things, sickness and health, and all the ups and downs in between.

Allen’s career was built on decades of hard work and skillful expertise in commercial maintenance, where he devoted approximately 30 years to his profession. His commitment extended beyond his career as he earned an Associates degree in Psychology from MCC - Longview College and achieved HVAC certification.

He was a man full of vibrant personality—funny and down to earth, always easy-going. His family and friends knew him as someone who would gladly do anything for those he loved, always with a quick joke, or an honest opinion. These qualities made him a cherished member of his community and family.

Allen’s interests were as rich and varied as his character. He delighted in hunting, spent countless hours on or in the water, and had a lifelong affection for music. He loved tinkering with cars, traveling to new and familiar places, horseback riding, and most importantly, attending church and sharing precious time with his family. His spirit was further enriched by his membership at the Swope Park Lodge, where he was a proud Mason.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Sandra Hartley; his loving daughter, Michelle Hartley; and his cherished granddaughter, Cindy Olney. His extended family, including sister-in-law Lynn Hartley, brother-in-law Bill Sharp, sister-in-law Sherri Sharp, brother-in-law Steve Smith, and many nieces and nephews carry forward his memory with deep affection and respect.

Allen was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Hartley, his mother, Joyce Parsons, and his brother, Edwin Hartley. Their memories live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A visitation will be held at Lee's Summit Bible Church, located at 1200 NE Colbern Rd, Lee’s Summit, Missouri 64086, on May 29, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m., followed by a funeral service there at 1:30 p.m. The final resting place will be at Longview Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri, with burial scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at 12700 SE Raytown Rd. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Lee's Summit Bible Church.

Allen C. Hartley’s life was a tapestry woven with laughter, love, and generosity. His presence enriched everyone he encountered, and though he has departed this life, the warmth of his soul, the echo of his jokes, and his steadfast love for family will remain etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him. His legacy is one of kindness, strength, and gentle humor, a shining beacon for all who follow.
