Anna Young Ja Kim, 86, of Kansas City, Missouri went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 28, 2026 at her home with her son at her bedside.
Anna was born on March 25, 1940 in South Korea to the home of Kyung Soo Jung and Yang Nye Lim. Having a heart to help people, she studied nursing. Anna worked as a nurse primarily in South Korea but also in Germany for a few years. She met her husband Robert Kim, and they were married on December 17, 1966. In 1973, they immigrated to the United States to begin a new life for their family. In Michigan, Anna worked as a small business owner with her husband.
Anna was a faithful believer in Jesus and a powerful intercessor. She was a member of the Korean Presbyterian Church of Metro-Detroit serving as a deaconess for about 30 years. In 2016, the Lord led Robert and her to move from Michigan to Kansas City to join the International House of Prayer community. After her husband’s passing in March 2023, Anna served the Lord as a volunteer intercessory missionary at IHOPKC worshiping and praying 12 hours a week in the prayer room.
Anna was a sweet, bright, generous, hospitable, humble, kind, thankful and loving woman of God who will be truly missed by all who knew her. She was a lover of God, a faithful wife who honored her husband, a sacrificial mother to her children, a great cook, hospitable to guests, and a mighty intercessor who fought for God's destiny for her family, church, America, Israel and the nations in prayer.
She is survived by her son Jong Kim, daughter Jami Hyun Jung Kim, son-in-law Dan Rowley, and granddaughters Danielle and Gabrielle Rowley.
