Betty Kunzweiler

Betty Cecelia Kunzweiler was born on June 27, 1936, in Rock Island, IL. Her parents were Ernest Wesley Bacon and Elisabeth Clara Straub Nuveman Bacon.
Betty lived in Chicago, IL before moving permanently to Kansas City, MO in 1952. She graduated from Bishop Hogan High School in 1953. Betty worked as a secretary at a life insurance company, a law firm, and a doctor's office for several years. Her main occupation was homemaker. Betty married William Lawrence Durbin in 1955, and they had three children: William Wesley, Barbara Susan, and David Michael. She then married Vincent Lee Kunzweiler in 1972, and they had one son, Kevin Vincent. Some of Betty's favorite accomplishments were teaching Sunday school to handicapped children and learning how to paint. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her son Kevin, and her husband Vince. She is survived by her children Billy, Barbie, and David; by her adoptive mother, Barbara Bacon; her brothers, Jerome, John, and Rick; and her sisters, Barbara Ann and Gerri. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Cary Leigh and Justin; and great-grandson, Jace. Betty was devoted to prayer and said the rosary daily. Betty's death was sudden and unexpected and she will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
