Betty B. Parrish, 84, passed away April 18, 2024.  Visitation will be Monday, April 22, from 10-11am followed by services at 11am, all at Longview Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Longview Cemetery.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

Betty was born on July 30, 1939, in Neosho, Missouri.  She grew up in Springfield, where she graduated from Parkview High School.  She married Bill Parrish on July 12, 1957, and soon after started their family of three beloved girls:  Sheri, Tami, and Kathi.  After her daughters were grown, Betty furthered her education by obtaining her Associate’s degree from Longview Community College, where she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and then received her Bachelor’s Degree from Avila College.   Betty worked as a substitute teacher in the Hickman Mills, Ruskin, and Raytown school districts.

Betty was a member of Lee’s Summit Christian Church and was known to be a talented singer, participating in her church and school choirs, and singing at weddings, funerals, and other events.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her mother, Olga Donovan; and her daughter, Kathi Roach.   Survivors include daughters, Sheri Pate (husband, Steve) and Tami Hutcheson (husband, Dean); grandchildren:   Vanessa Stillwell, Britani Harper, Alan Hutcheson, Tabitha Hutcheson, Danny Roach, Matt Roach, and Erika Sombolinggi; and great grandchildren:  Joseph Stillwell, Conor Stillwell, Kindra Moore, Koltin Moore, Deklyn Roach, Hope Sombolinggi, Oliver Sombolinggi, and Daphne Roach, all of whom will miss her very much.
