Bill Arnold, age 85, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away October 23, 2020 after a 2-year struggle with Alzheimer’s.
He was born September 24, 1935 in Reeds, Missouri to Elzer and Mabel (Goodson) Arnold. The family moved to Sarcoxie when Bill was about 4 years old.
Bill married Wilma Greathouse August 12, 1953 and the couple had four children – Vivian, Debra, Karen and Darryl. Wilma died Dec 19, 1967.
On June 5, 1970, Bill and Vida Greathouse were married and together they raised their blended family of nine children. Bill was devoted to his family. He loved taking road trip vacations; going to the lake and spending time on his boat but most of all, he loved Sundays when family members came home for Sunday dinners. Music was a passion of Bills that continued from the Boys Quartet in his high school days to singing during activities in the memory care unit where he resided for the past year. Bill retired in 2007 after 36 years as a salesman – most of that time for Kenny’s tile in Grandview, Missouri.
Bill is preceded in death by Vida Arnold, his wife of 48 years; his son, Darryl; parents, Elzer and Mabel Arnold; and his brother, Charles Arnold. He is survived by his sister, Darlene Jerome and children Sheryl (Greathouse) Hartman, Vivian (Arnold) Workman, Debra (Arnold) Rader, Cathy (Greathouse) Bruce, Karen (Arnold) White, Carol (Greathouse) Cutting, Anita (Greathouse) Clifford and son Brent Greathouse plus 35 grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
