Carl F. Vaitl, 88, of Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2019. He was born November 11, 1930, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to the late Ludwig and Julianna (Schmuck) Vaitl.
Carl lived his faith everyday the way he treated his family, friends and co-workers. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Business Administration; he proudly served in the United States Army; worked for Allis Chalmers for 20 years and Parmalee Industries (US Safety) until his retirement. He was a strong Christian man who dearly loved his wife and family. He also enjoyed serving his community, singing in the church choir, gardening and developing his model railroad.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Eileen (Masch) Vaitl; his children Victoria (Keith) Schwinke, Stephen (Tina) Vaitl and Sue (Ralph) Nyquist. Grandchildren Megan (Dana) , Savanna (Brandon), Melissa, Clay (Beth), Kara and Alex. Great-grandchildren Kaden and Madelyn. He is also survived by his Brother Bill Vaitl and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his sister Julie Gruber.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 15, 2019, from 4-7 PM at Ascension Lutheran Church 4900 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133. Funeral service will be Monday at 10 AM at the Church. Interment in Longview Cemetery. Share online condolences at LongviewFH.com
