Obituary

In Loving Memory of Chan/Charlene/Mom

Chan/Charlene/Mom passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Born to Charles L. Scott and Ruth Lorene Scott (formerly Wagner), whom she loved dearly.

Chan was the matriarch and a constant source of joy to all who knew her.

As the eldest of six children: Ella Ruth VanTrece (formerly Scott), Jimmy Augusta Scott, Allene Scott Abd'Allah, George Gordon, and Lorenzo Scott. Chan embraced her role with a nurturing heart from a very young age. She was far more than just a big sister—she was like a second mother to each of her brothers and sisters. Her unwavering support, warmth, and care helped shape her family, creating a bond among them that time could never diminish.

Chan/Charlene/Mom 1st Love the Lord (YHWH) with all her heart and with all her soul and with all her strength and with all her mind.

Charlene/Mom was married to smith then stigler who gifted her five beloved sons and six grandchildren: Antonio Cornelius Smith (Tony), Robert M. Stigler, heavenly son, Ronnie SoG.(branded Stigler), and Shawn D. Stigler who became the center of her world. Following the birth of her fifth son, medical doctors gave up hope and wrote her off as dead. Yet, with remarkable resilience, faith, and strength, Chan/Charlene/Mom defied all odds and lived another 50-plus vibrant years, continuing to touch countless lives with her spirit.

Her capacity to love extended well beyond her immediate family.

Chan/Charlene/Mom lived her life in obedience ot the calling of the 2nd commandment. Love her neighbor as herself. Whether working as a fountain waitress, as a seamstress at Betty Rose Coat & Hat factory, as a keypunching data entry operator, and serving her community with a warm smile and kind word as a beloved waitress at Denny’s on Broadway KCMO, and in her later years, kicking up her heels, line dancing with her close friends and associates, she brought warmth and joy, into every room she entered.

However, long before her working experiences, she graced the halls of Lincoln Academy KCMO as a self-proclaimed artist specializing in handprinting and home economics.

Chan/Charlene/Mom’s life was a testament to love, resiliency, resourcefulness, perseverance, and family.

She will be profoundly missed by her family, her friends, and all those who were blessed to know her.

Love U Chan.... Charlene..... Mom....
