Charles “Pops” Hall, 87, passed away May 21, 2024.  Visitation will be Saturday, June 1st from 1-2pm followed by services at 2pm at Longview Funeral Home.  Burial with full military honors will follow at Longview Cemetery.

Charles was born on June 8, 1936, in Dalton, Georgia, to Cass Odell Hall and Fannie Louise (Bridges) Hall.  He grew up in Georgia with his two brothers before moving to Alaska with his stepdad.   He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1955 where he served for three years before his discharge in 1958. Charles was a proud veteran who serviced this country and a generous man who tried to help others in need.  After his discharge, he went to work for Sante Fe Railroad as a machinist, where he eventually retired after many years of service.

Pops loved old muscle cars, gardening, making birdhouses, and whittling.  He was known for his banana cream pie and his amazing potato salad.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Charles Leroy Hall and Adam Dills; and a brother, David Hall.

He is survived by three children:  Rita Soltesz (husband, William), Shaun Hall (wife, Geene), and Terry Hall (wife, Trish); seven grandchildren: Charlie, Elizabeth, Michelle, Christina, Missy, Meaghan, and Tyler; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Haven Hall (wife, Alice); several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
