Mr. Curtis Fulte

Chief Master Sergeant Curtis M. Fulte USAF Retired, age 76, died on July 24, 2009, in his home surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 3, 1932 on the family farm in Marissa Township Illinois, he was the son of Walter H. Fulte and Catherine A. (Wagner) Fulte. His parents and an unnamed stillborn sister preceded him in death. He married Betty Loesche on October 7th 1950; the marriage was blessed with five children, Curt Michael (Kathy), Dawn Elaine Hainey (Steve), Tammy Lynn Cox (Jim), Daniel Alan (Lisa) and Tracy Lee Carpenter (James); eight Grandchildren, Kimberly, Christopher, Ryan, Stephanie, Jessie, Derek, Danielle, and Michael; and three Great Grandchildren, Tyler, Grayson, and Annabelle. He retired from the Air Force in 1980 after serving 28 years. He had been stationed in many locations throughout world, including three years in Berlin Germany behind the Iron Curtain. After retirement from his final Air Force assignment as the Air Traffic Control Maintenance and Electronic Warfare Superintendent at Headquarters AFCS, Scott Air Force Base, he was briefly employed as Quality Control Manager for Deitz Design Electronics, then as a Field Engineer for Wilcox Electric, installing Instrument Landing Systems at various Airports in the United States and finally as a traveling Quality Auditor at manufacturing locations throughout the United States and Canada for the Bendix/Honeywell Nuclear manufacturing complex in Kansas City Mo. He retired from Bendix/Honeywell after ten years because of terminal kidney failure and was on Hemo Dialysis for 21 years. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a lifetime member of the Air Force Sergeants Association and the American Legion. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Newcomer’s Longview Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, July 27th from 6 to 8:00p.m. at the Funeral Home.
