Dennis Galen Jones of Kansas City, MO passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Dennis was born in Maryville, MO on Sept 2, 1947 to Ralph and Emma Jones. On May 16, 1969, he married his childhood friend and high school sweetheart, Connie Lynn Hoover. Together they moved to KCMO and had two daughters: Chrissy & Patty. On June 11, 2011, he lost his loving wife, Connie. Dennis served in the US Army, including Vietnam. He retired from Hallmark Cards Inc. after 36 years. On March 28, 2015, he married Janet Price of Grandview, MO. His hobbies included fishing and hunting. He was a very active Life Memorial VFW Post 8100 member.
Dennis leaves behind his wife, Janet; daughters, Chrissy (Randy) Klein and Patty (John) Hutchison; son, Darrin Wilkinson; brothers: Robert “Bob” (Pauline) Jones, Dick (Rose) Jones, and Larry (Glenda) Jones; cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother-in-law’s and family, sister-in-law’s and family. Preceding him in death are his parents; his sister, Francis; and brother, Bud.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 15th at 2:00 pm, with the visitation beginning at 1:00 pm, all at Longview Funeral Home & Cemetery in KC, MO. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Dennis G. Jones to Hospice of KC.
