Dorothy Gruner, 84, of Kansas City, Mo passed away October 16, 2015.
Dorothy graduated from Windsor High School in 1949. Following high school, she attended CMSU and then taught for a couple of years before moving to Kansas City. She met Jerry Gruner while working at the Army Defense Mapping Agency. They were married August 4, 1956. After retiring from the IRS, she enjoyed traveling with her husband and seeing fall foliage.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; sister, Virginia Hecker; and brother, Robert Perry. She is survived by her brother, Clayton Perry; sister, Mary Morgan; daughter, Karen (Jim) Hopper; her sons: David Gruner and Phil (Kim) Gruner; along with eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24th from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at Longview Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the local American Cancer Society.
