Rusty, a cherished soul, was born in the small
farming town of Maryville
Missouri on June 25,
1943 to Alfred Glen and
Irene Elizabeth Nuckolls.
Rusty peacefully departed
this world at home
surrounded by love, on
August 14, 2026.
Rusty's journey through life was
marked by boundless
dedication, unwavering
love, and selfless service
to his family, community,
and country.
A man of deep
commitment, Rusty
shared 63 beautiful years
with his beloved wife
Sharon Lyn, whom he
married on November 28,
1962. Together, they built
a life filled with
adventure, and an
unbreakable bond. The
love they shared was a
testament to their life,
and now they are
reunited in eternal rest.
Rusty's life was one of
service & devotion. A
proud veteran in the
United States Army,
holding the values of
freedom and patriotism
close to his heart. After
honorable discharge he
attended the Kansas City
Police Academy
dedicating his career to
serving Hickman Mills
South Patrol Division.
Rusty's commitment to
work was unwavering. His
whole life he worked two
jobs to provide for his
family.
Even after retiring from
the Police Department,
Rusty continued to serve
his community with pride
as a D.A.R.E. Officer &
Deputy with
the Jackson County
Sheriff's Department
where he found joy in
giving children big or
small a Jr. Deputy Badge.
His dedication to law
enforcement and
community service never
waned. He had his own
asphalt company for
many years that he put
his heart, sweat & tears
into.
Years after he was
supposed to fully retire
he had a hard time
slowing down. He started
working alongside his
friend, a retired
firefighter to maintain &
repair serval area KC
Metro hospital parking
lots, sidewalks and many
a cold night of snow
plowing.
Rusty was a man who
found immense joy in his
home, barn &
motorhome. He never
wanted to be parted from
any of them because
there he had his wife,
family and love. Over the
last 25 years he took
great delight in attending
horse shows to watch his
granddaughter compete
during her teenage years.
Loved when spring would
finally come so he could
get on his mower to
admire his property.
Always planning for the
next getaway trip where
together with Sharon &
their little dog they
traveled the country in
their motorhome
exploring every state
from Florida to Alaska.
Preceded in death by his
beautiful wife Sharon,
sister Norma, grandson
Ryan, and granddaughter
Nicole Marie. Rusty
leaves behind a legacy of
love and warmth. He is
survived by his sister
Linda & husband Bob of
Arizona, sister Traci of
Colorado & sister in law
Donna of Missouri.
Daughter Shawnna and
her husband Damon,
granddaughter Ashly
Elizabeth and
great-granddaughter
Harlie Elizabeth.
His son Russell Nuckolls,
grandson Justin and
great-grandchildren
Olivia, Grayson &
Lochlan. He will always &
forever be their PaPa.
Rusty was always ready
to lend a helping hand to
those in need. His
kindness and willingness
to support others were
hallmarks of who he was,
and he touched the lives
of many with his
selflessness and
generosity.
In honoring Rusty's
memory, In lieu of

tree in your own yard to
remember him by.
Rusty's life was a
tapestry of love, service
and adventure. Though
he will be deeply missed,
his legacy will continue to
inspire and uplift all those
who were fortunate
enough to know & love him.
