Evelyn Bradley

Evelyn G. (Edwards) Bradley, 68 of Gladstone, MO was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior, on May 12, 2017. Ms. Bradley was born on Jan. 5, 1949 to Hosea and Evelyn (Porter) Edwards in Nashville, Arkansas. She was the oldest of nine children born to this union.
Ms. Bradley graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, MO and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Kansas. Following her passion, Ms. Bradley worked in a variety of capacities in multiple not for profit organizations in the Kansas City area. She was active in various social committees and was a dedicated, ordained minister who shared the gospel with everyone she encountered. Even as her health began to decline, Ms. Bradley never stopped sharing the love of God (John 3:16) with everyone she met, including her family and friends, neighbors, nurses and caregivers, contractors, and even total strangers. Ms. Bradley was a woman who lived out her faith every day in the way she served others.
In 1968 she met and married the love of her life the late Rev. Marvin Bradley and the two were married for thirty years until his untimely death. To their union three children were born. She is survived by her children: Marvin (Diasha) Bradley; Clifton Bradley, and Andrea (Michael) Bradley-Ewing. Ms. Bradley was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many. Her generous spirit and love of God will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held Friday May 19th from 10-11 AM followed by the Homegoing Celebration at 11 AM. Services will be held at Southside Christian Church located at 7304 Cleveland, Kansas City, MO 64132. Interment following the service at Longview Funeral Home & Cemetery, 12700 S. Raytown Rd, Kansas City, MO 64149.
