Floyd E. Brookhouser
Floyd E. Brookhouser, age 76, resident of Kansas City, Missouri passed away,Friday, September 26, 2008 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Floyd was born July 1, 1932, the son of Everett and Grace (Mason) Brookhouser in Salina, Kan. He attended Girard High School and graduated in 1951. Floyd was a member of First Methodist Church of Girard, Kan., an Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving his country from 1952-1956. Floyd worked as a high school principle and administrator for several years. He held a bachelor's degree in math and science from Pittsburg State University; he also earned a master of education degree from Central Missouri State University. After his career in education, he entered into the insurance business, which he retired from in 1999. Floyd is preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Grace Brookhouser, brother Don Brookhouser and grandson Joshua Ivers. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy, of the home; daughter Cynthia Brookhouser; sons Timothy Brookhouser, David Brookhouser and wife Susan; grandsons Nicholas and Brendan Brookhouser; brother William Brookhouser and wife Virginia; sister Meryldine Addison, and many nieces and nephews.
