Gene Richter

Often known for cracking a joke and grinning with a sparkle in his eye, Gene Richter’s legacy of light hearted kindness will forever be remembered.

His knowledge, wisdom, friendship and caring graced many souls over the years. From friends and family to coworkers and anyone he decided to take under his wing. He always had a way of making a person feel like they belonged when near his presence and a little lighter in spirit when they left.

Gene was born November 28th 1962 in New Haven CT, eventually settling in the Kansas City MO area. He grew to love fast cars and football. Known for his adventurous spirit, quick wit and as a jack of all trades. He crossed paths with many people during his years in real estate, construction, the restaurant industry and over the course of his retail career.

He moved on from this world to be with dearly missed family on July 30th, 2025. Gene is survived in death by his brother Bob Richter and many other cherished family and friends.

His hugs, jokes, grins and spirit will be dearly missed. There is no doubt he leaves many treasured memories with us all.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to St. Jude's in Gene's honor.
