George was born in Fitzgerald, Georgia. He passed peacefully on March 29, 2014. His parents were Leon and Vera Lindsey. He was married to Shirley Ann Fischer, of California, MO. They had eight children together.
George spent two years in the Army and 20 in the Air Force. His first assignment was installing telephone poles in Germany. He hauled missiles from site to site. George also served in Korea and Vietnam. While in the military George participated in competitive shooting and won multiple awards. George had a great respect for the military and was very proud of his career. After retiring, George began a second career as an over-the-road truck driver.
He loved taking pictures or videos, tinkering with broken things, and hunting and fishing. He spent years being a Boy Scout leader for his sons. Some of his favorite things were sweet tea, his pets, and home remedies.
Shirley Ann Lindsey was born in California, MO, to Herman and Emma Fischer. She had one older sister, Betty Jean, (Deceased). Growing up she helped her parents raise registered dogs. When she was younger, she collected glass dog figurines. She loved to drive to St. Louis to attend Cardinals baseball games and she loved to dance. She graduated Salutatorian of her high school class. She loved to read, garden, and feeding her birds and squirrels. She was a Brownie leader, a Girl Scout leader, and volunteered for countless positions amongst her children’s activities.
Her devotion to her family was endless.
George and Shirley Lindsey were married over 50 years. They had eight children together.

Michael, of Lee’s Summit, Mo., his children Vanessa, Patrick, and Samantha. Bobbi Boyle, of Phoenix, AZ., spouse Michael, their children, Marcus, Joshua, Caitlin, Jacob. Debra Hart of North, Kansas City. Gary Lindsey, deceased 2021, his daughter, Tiffany. Brian Lindsey, spouse Tammy, their children Lauren and Jacob. Nancy Wells, of North Kansas City, her children, Todd Jr, Stephen, Shelby, and Christina.
