Hans Walter Scheitzow, a devoted Service Technician for Sears Service Center, known for his keen observation and helpful nature, passed away on June 23, 2024, in Independence, Missouri. He was born on April 17, 1935, in Hamburg, Germany.

Hans lived a life filled with service and from his time serving in the United States Army to his career at Sears, he was a reliable and valuable member of his community. He received his General Education Degree and further honed his skills by attending a professional trade program.

Described as a quiet man who never missed a detail, Hans was incredibly handy and always willing to lend a helping hand. His family and friends cherished his observant nature and his ability to fix just about anything. Outside of work, he found joy in building elaborate sets and structures for model trains and motorized boats, indulging in his love for auto racing, and savoring marzipan, his favorite sweet treat.

Hans will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his life partner Dorothy Sharp; children Andrea (Steve) Wood, Lauri (Gary) Thurman, Dale (Jodie) James, and Michael (Julie) James; grandchildren Alexander, Travis, Heather, Brandon, Bradley, Taylor, Maddie, Danny, John, Nicole, Chase, and Lola; as well as 9 great-grandchildren.
