Herbert Benjamin Hof Jr., a loving husband, father, and friend, passed away on November 9, 2023, in Lee's Summit, Missouri. Born on March 4, 1938, in his hometown of Kansas City, Missouri, Herbert lived a life filled with love, hard work, and cherished memories.

Herbert started his career as a truck driver for Pepsi Co., dedicating many years to his work with utmost dedication and commitment. Through his unwavering work ethic and reliability, he became a valued member of the company. It was during these years that he met countless people from all walks of life and formed lifelong friendships.

Outside of work, Herbert reveled in the simple joys of life. He had an adventurous spirit and loved spending time outdoors. Some of his fondest memories were made while camping with his family. Whether it was sitting around the campfire, sharing stories and laughter, or exploring nature's wonders together, those camping trips are etched into the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to join him.

In addition to camping, Herbert had an abiding love for hunting, fishing, and the serenity that could only be found in nature's embrace. These hobbies brought him solace and allowed him to connect with the world around him. His appreciation for the great outdoors was infectious; he often encouraged others to join him on these escapades and taught them the value of patience and perseverance.

The legacy he leaves behind extends far beyond his career and hobbies; it is echoed in the kind-heartedness that defined his character. Herbert had a caring nature that endeared him to countless individuals. He possessed an innate ability to fix anything that crossed his path—a true testament to both his resourcefulness and determination.

Committed to providing for his loved ones, Herbert was a hardworking family man who consistently put their needs above his own. The pride he took in caring for those he cherished knew no bounds. Beyond his immediate family, Herbert formed unbreakable bonds with friends who became an integral part of his chosen family.

Among his proudest accomplishments was serving in the Army and meeting his beloved wife Jacqueline while deployed in France. Their deep love and unwavering support for one another served as a guiding light throughout their marriage. Jacqueline, along with their children Brian and Cherie, were Herbert's pillars of strength. Their love created a haven of warmth, compassion, and unwavering support for him.

Herbert will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. He is survived by his loving wife Jacqueline; son Brian; daughter Cherie and her husband Paul Faulconer; daughter-in-law Brenda Hof; grandchildren Will Faulconer, Emma Faulconer, and Andrew; and his fur babies Jackson and Stella. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Hof Sr., mother Octavia Hof, Son Ed Hof, daughter Debra Hof, and sister Barbara, and Margaret. His memory will forever live on in their hearts.

To honor his life and pay tribute to the impact he made on those around him, visitation services will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Longview Funeral Home in Kansas City, Missouri. The interment will follow at Longview Cemetery at 12:00 PM with Military Honors. The address for both services is 12700 SE Raytown Rd, Kansas City, MO 64149.
