Jacqueline "Jackie" Welch

Jacqueline Marie Welch (Sims),  formerly of Charleston South Carolina left her earthly body on Tuesday, May 1st, 2018 at the age of 82, surrounded by her family at the KC Hospice House after a long battle with dementia. Jackie was born on March 17th 1936, in Olanta South Carolina, the daughter of George Washington Sims and Lena Sims (Smith).

She is preceded in death by her first husband Doc Benjamin Sarvis Jr., who was the father of her first 3 children, Faye, Larry (deceased in 2004) and Cindy (Roy) and her second husband, Heyward Harold Welch, who was the father of her other 3 children Ann (Jim), Timothy and Denny (Debbie). She is also preceded in death by her twin brother Pete, brother's John (JR), Billy and Bobby and sister Millie Rae and her twin Lillie as well as siblings from her father's first marriage, Iro McKenzie, William Lee, Audria Louise, Guymon Wright, Heddie and George Vivian. She is survived by her sister Rosa Jean (Hoyt).

Jackie had a beautiful heart, loved to laugh, made wonderful Sunday Southern comfort meals for her family and enjoyed spending time with her 10 grand-children  (Mandy, Heather, Cory, Clay, Meredith, Abby, Adam, Austin, Autumn and Lucy) and 10 great grand-children (James, Logan, Spencer, Maddie, Gavin, Aurora, Parker, Brooklyn, Kyrin, and Kameron)

Visitation will be held on Friday at 10am, with the service beginning at 11am at the Longview Funeral Home and Cemetery, 12700 S. Raytown Rd. Kansas City MO 64149.  Graveside service to follow immediately after the service. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Kansas City Hospice House.
