Jeffery Simmons

Jeffery (Jeff) Lee Simmons, 51, of Raytown Missouri passed away on Sunday, July 1st, 2018 in Kansas City, Missouri.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 6th from 6 – 8PM at Longview Funeral Home, 12700 S. Raytown Rd, Kansas City, MO 64149.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 7th at 11:00AM at Longview Funeral Home, 12700 S. Raytown Rd, Kansas City, MO 64149.  Jeff will be laid to rest following in Longview Cemetery.

Jeff was born in Miami, Oklahoma on November 16th, 1966 to Linda Sue Simmons and Emmitt Leon Simmons.  He would be the 2nd of 5 children and the “Number 2 Son”.  He met his soul-mate Dora on Valentine’s Day in 2005, they were married July 4th, 2008 and together with her 2 daughters, Tara and Elli, they built a beautiful life together.   Jeff was a Journeyman Ironworker with Ironworkers Local 10 in Kansas City, Missouri, he loved his job and was proud to be a part of the Ironworkers Brotherhood.

Jeff is preceded in death by his Mother, Linda Sue Simmons; Paternal Grandfather, Otho Emmitt Simmons & Paternal Grandmother, Esther Carrie Starling; Maternal Grandfather, Ralph Johnston and Maternal Grandmother, Johnny Johnston; Step-son, Andrew Roman Steffen.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Dora Jane Simmons; Daughter, Tara Marie Steffen; Daughter, Elli J Steffen; best friend, Opie; Father, Emmitt Leon Simmons; Brother, Emmitt (Leon) Simmons, Jr.; along with his wife, Lorraine Simmons, and their children: Lindsey Simmons, Christopher Simmons, Chad Simmons, Colton Simmons, Misty Mowery, Molly Simmons, Jason Gallegos & Amanda Coyle; sister, Tanya Boyer; along with her children: Jake Boyer, Hayden Boyer, & Ian Boyer; brother, Christopher Simmons; sister, Carrie Kepley; along with her husband, Josh Kepley, and their children: Griffin Kepley, Charlie Kepley, & Morgan Kepley; Mother-in-Law, Mary Buckner; Father-in-Law, Everet Buckner; Sister-in-Law, Rita Young; Sister-in-Law, Kathryn Ramirez; along with her husband, Rafael Ramirez, and their children: Rafael Young-Ramirez and Mateo Young-Ramirez; and many, many more Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends.

Pallbearers will be Leon Simmons, Jr., Chris Simmons, Josh Kepley, Griffin Kepley, Raphael Ramirez, and Joe Redding.
