Joan Chalfant

Joan Kathleen “Kate” Chalfant, aged 75 passed away Friday, January 8, 2021. Kate was born in Evansville, Indiana on October 9, 1945. She grew up in Savannah, Missouri and was a graduate of Savannah High School and Avila University in Kansas City.

Kate is survived by her husband James E. Chalfant and her best friend and daughter Jessica P. Chalfant. She was preceded by her parents Hans and Virginia Yunker and Brothers John and Robert Yunker.

Kate’s family and many friends loved her as a warm, gentle, witty and fun-loving person who enjoyed playing bridge and had a passionate interest in music, native flowers and gardening.

Celebration of Kate’s life will be held at a future date after Covid 19 restrictions are lifted and flowers are in bloom.
