Joetta Martha Anderson

October 1, 1931 — December 15, 2023

Belton

Joetta Martha Anderson, 92, of Belton, Missouri passed away peacefully on December 15, 2023. She was born on October 1, 1931, in Clarinda, Iowa, to her proud parents George and Katherine Mascher.

Joetta Martha Anderson's life was a shining example of faith and unconditional love. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness that will forever inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. Joetta's life was a testament to the power of faith, kindness, and love. Her strong belief in God guided her every step and was the cornerstone of her character. She found solace and inspiration through attending church at the South Haven Baptist Church in Belton.

An adventurous spirit, Joetta tandem jumped out of an airplane on her 80th birthday and zip lined in Silver Dollar City at the age 85.  Joetta cherished the memories created with her loved ones on her many trips to St. Simon Island where she enjoyed walking the beaches, the ocean breeze, and quality time with family and friends. Joetta had a love for fishing and no matter whether it was casting a line from a boat or sharing stories by a peaceful riverbank, these fishing excursions created everlasting bonds.  Nurturing her green thumb brought Joetta immense joy. Gardening was not just a hobby; it was an expression of her love for nature and life itself. Her garden and flowers flourished under her care, as she poured her heart into cultivating their growth.  Joetta also loved needlework, crafting, and crocheting.  She skillfully crafted beautiful pieces filled with love and care.

But above all else, Joetta valued her family. They were truly the center of her world, and she cherished the time spent together creating treasured memories that will be forever etched in their hearts. Her kind and loving nature touched each member of her family deeply.

Joetta is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Donald Anderson, her daughter Martha Leek, her son Jerry Wills, three sisters and one brother. Joetta is survived by her children: Kathy Mercer (Dorsen), Patty Ruiz (Art), Jim Wills (Cheryl), and Paula Mann (Harold).

Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Tony Leek (Kaylene), Angela Leek, Karl Mercer (Emily), Andrea Conlon (Dave), Joey Ruiz (Nicole), Michelle Wills, Melissa Antill (Cole), and Josh Wills (Amanda). The love Joetta shared extends to the younger generation as well, with great-grandchildren Dalton, Courtney, Analicia, Grace, Karley, Morgan, Emma, Cami, Sofia, Eli, Justin, Kevin, Kayleigh, Gabby, and Carmine.

The celebration of Joetta's life will be held at the South Haven Baptist Church in Belton on January 5th, 2024. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. The burial will take place at Belton Cemetery at 12:30 PM.  As those who loved her gather to say their final goodbyes in these services of remembrance and reflection, they do so with heavy hearts but also with gratitude for having been touched by such an extraordinary soul.

May Joetta rest in eternal peace as her family and friends continue to carry her memory in their hearts. Her light will forever guide them and remind them of the profound impact one person can have on the lives of many.
