John David Gamble, 62, of Raymore, passed away on August 25, 2015.
John was born February 3, 1953 in Kansas City, MO to Alvie and Betty Jo (Schmittou) Gamble. He grew up in Terrace Lake Gardens and went to grade school at Warford Elementary, then graduated from Ruskin High School in 1971. He was active in boy scouts and enjoyed hunting with his father and son. John was an ironworker for Local 10 until his passing. He loved spending time with his family, especially his many grandchildren, attending all of their many activities.
John was preceded in death by his parents and his two grandsons: Seth and Nathaniel Higgins. He is survived by his wife, Gloria; his son, David Gamble; his daughter, Stacy (Brian) Higgins; his step-children: Keith, Gene, and Jason Heiner and Carmen Welch; his sisters, Jo Aulgur and Rebecca (Frank) Balestrere; grandchildren: Jessica, Kayla, Jordan, Eric, and Kyra Heiner, Samantha and Andrew Gamble, Daniel, Jacob Alvie, and Rachel Jo Higgins; many nieces and nephews; and his loving dog, Bella.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29 at 12:00 pm at Longview Funeral Home, with visitation two hours prior to services. Interment will follow in Longview Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to Type I Diabetes – Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
