It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joyce Chrisman Murphy Epps, who departed this world on July 20, 2026, at the age of 89, after a long and brave battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Born on July 12, 1937, Joyce lived a life full of adventure, laughter, and cherished memories.

Joyce was the beloved daughter of Henry and Georgia Chrisman, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Kramer; her husbands Terry D. Murphy and Ed Epps; her companion, Jr. Schmidt; and her granddaughter, Stephanie Cline.

She is survived by her sister, Cheri Schuette (Steve) of Cuba, MO; her daughter, Kelly Zeih, (Larry) of Lee’s Summit, MO; and HER son, Michael Murphy of unknown location. Joyce leaves behind a legacy with her grandchildren: Charles Cline (Steph) of Olathe, KS; Teri Alison (Matt) of Olathe, KS. Her legacy continues with her great-grandchildren: Alex Cline and Evan Alison. Joyce is also remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews.

Joyce was known for her self-proclaimed "warped" sense of humor. Her culinary skills were celebrated by her for "world famous" vegetable soup, a recipe that had a secret ingredient.

Throughout her life, Joyce's adventures included playing basketball, riding motorcycles, getting her pilot’s license, working at Daytona International Speedway and traveling. She was a beacon of resilience, facing life's challenges with grace and dignity.

The family expresses profound gratitude to those who supported Joyce throughout her life, especially during her final years. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Joyce's memory to an Alzheimer's research organization of your choice, honoring her courageous battle against the disease.

Joyce's life was a testament to the power of humor and resilience. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
