Katherine L. Mundwiller, 78, of Raymore, passed away on November 24, 2015 at Kansas City Hospice House.
Katherine was born on January 14, 1937 to Samuel and Ida Mueller on a farm in Odessa, MO. She spent the first eight years of school in a one room school house, then graduated from Odessa High School. After graduating, she went to work as a telephone operator in Odessa and later moved to Oak Grove. She then learned the dial system in Lone Jack and went back to Oak Grove, where she met James Mundwiller. They were married on February 7, 1959, and moved to Lexington, Missouri, where she continued to work as a phone operator. She left her job to raise their son, Michael, and after he was grown started babysitting until their move to Raymore, MO. She enjoyed visits from her son and grandchildren, reading, and working on puzzles. She also enjoyed watching the deer at Longview Lake.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James. She is survived by her son Michael (Susan) Mundwiller; two grandchildren: Alexander and Brianna Mundwiller; her sister, Mary Jane Davis; and several nephews and a niece.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 3rd at Longview Funeral Home from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 4th at 11:00 am at Longview Funeral Home, interment will follow in Longview Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to American Diabetes Association.
