Kathleen Mary Harrington, born Kathleen Mary Stoltz, peacefully passed away on January 15, 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who touched countless lives with her kind and welcoming nature. Kathleen embodied the values of love, family, and compassion throughout her life.

Kathleen was born on May 2, 1942, in San Francisco, California to her loving parents Victor Stoltz and Claire (McDermott) Stoltz. From an early age, she exhibited a remarkable warmth and generosity that would become defining traits of her character. Kathleen grew up alongside her two beloved sisters Claire "Bunky" McAdams and Barbara Henderson.

After completing her education, Kathleen embarked on a fulfilling career in accounting for the United States Government. Her commitment to excellence and attention to detail made her invaluable to the organization she served.

While Kathleen excelled in her professional life, it was her role as a mother and grandmother that brought her the greatest joy. She adored her three children Joe Harrington, Lisa Shanks, and Kevin Harrington. Kathleen cherished every moment spent with them, nurturing their dreams, and supporting them in their endeavors.

In addition to being a doting mother, Kathleen had the immense privilege of being a grandmother to six precious grandchildren: Derek, Jennifer, Nathan, Cassie, Megan, Hunter. As an involved and loving grandmother, she attended their performances and games cheering them on from the sidelines with unwavering support.

It was during these moments when she witnessed the bonds of family grow stronger that Kathleen's heart seemed most full. She took pride in watching each individual grandchild grow into remarkable individuals.

And not only did she have grandchildren who looked up to her but also great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life: Landon, Alexa, Lily, Bradley, Cooper,and Braxton. Their innocent smiles and laughter brought infinite happiness to Kathleen, and she cherished every chance she had to hold them in her arms.

In her free time, Kathleen engaged in various activities that brought her immense pleasure. She was an avid bowler who embraced the friendly competition and camaraderie of the sport. Whether it was a leisurely game or a competitive match, Kathleen always enjoyed spending time on the lanes with loved ones.

Traveling on cruises was another passion of Kathleen's. Exploring new destinations, embracing different cultures, and relaxing amidst breathtaking scenery provided her with cherished memories that will forever be held dear by those fortunate enough to have joined her on these adventures.

Additionally, Kathleen found delight in playing bingo, a pastime she relished with friends who shared her enthusiasm. Her lively spirit illuminated the bingo hall as she cheered loudly for both her own victories and those of fellow players.

A place that held a special place in Kathleen's heart was Disneyland. She cherished the magic that enveloped the park and took delight in experiencing its joy alongside her loved ones. From meeting beloved characters to enjoying thrilling rides, Kathleen's visits to Disneyland were filled with memories that will be cherished for generations.

Throughout her life, Kathleen's proudest accomplishments revolved around her family. Her dedication to being a loving mother and grandmother left an indelible mark on their hearts. She selflessly poured love and wisdom into each of their lives, leaving an enduring legacy of compassion and kindness.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband John Harrington. Kathleen is survived by her children Joe Harrington, Lisa Shanks, Kevin Harrington, grandchildren Derek, Jennifer, Nathan, Cassie, Megan, Hunter, great-grandchildren Landon, Alexa, Lily, Bradley, Cooper, and Braxton as well as her sisters Claire "Bunky" McAdams and Barbara Henderson. 

Kathleen's unconditional love for all those around her will be deeply missed but forever treasured. The memories of her kind and welcoming spirit will continue to be a guiding light for those fortunate enough to have known her.

In honor of Kathleen's incredible journey, a memorial service will be held to celebrate her life. Family and friends will gather to reflect on the joy she brought into their lives and find solace in the legacy she leaves behind.
