Larry Gene Uttley, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on July 3, 2023, in Lee's Summit, Missouri. He was born on March 1, 1942, in Kansas City, Missouri to Merlin Uttley and Hazel Uttley.

Larry had an exceptional career as a skilled carpenter for nearly six decades. His dedication to his craft was evident in every project he worked on. He had an innate ability to shape wood into beautiful creations that stood the test of time. Larry's craftsmanship will forever be remembered and admired by those who witnessed his talent.

Outside of work, Larry was a man who cherished his family above all else. On special occasions at his former home in Raymore, MO, he delighted in spending quality time with his loved ones. These moments brought him immense joy and created lasting memories that will be treasured by his family for generations to come.

In his earlier years, Larry pursued hobbies that aligned with his love for nature and the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman who found solace in casting his line into the calm waters of serene lakes. Gardening was another passion that allowed him to connect with the earth and nurture life through his own hands. In addition to these pursuits, Larry was also a skilled hunter who embraced the thrill of the chase.

Larry's adventurous spirit led him on many travels alongside his beloved wife Cathy. Together they explored new places, experienced different cultures, and created boundless memories along the way. Their shared wanderlust became a testament to their enduring love for each other.

Larry Gene Uttley is survived by his devoted wife Cathy Uttley of Raymore, MO; Tammy Morgan (daughter) of Overland Park, KS; Brent Uttley (son) of Raymore, MO; Teena & David Shouse (daughter & son-in-law) of Leawood KS; Taylor Morgan (grandson) of Overland Park, KS; Rachel Uttley (granddaughter) of Belton, MO; Sarah Bickle (granddaughter) of Harrisonville, MO; Brent Michael Uttley (grandson) of Peculiar, MO; Heather Shouse (granddaughter) of Cary, IL. He was also a cherished great-grandfather to Neveah Cushing, Andrea Cushing, Malakai Jr. Bickle, Nolan Uttley, and Emery Uttley.

Larry was preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Uttley, as well as his father Merlin Uttley and mother Hazel Uttley of Pittsburg, KS. While Larry's departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, his memory will forever be etched in their minds.
