Laura Ellen Cornwell

Laura Ellen Cornwell, 93, of Raymore, Missouri passed away peacefully at Benton House of Raymore on November 23, 2023. Laura was born on February 17, 1930, in Audrain County, Missouri to the loving home of Robert M. Jesse and Frances L. (Wisdom) Jesse.

Laura worked as a bookkeeper for many years. During her career she met the love of her life LeRoy Eugene Cornwell, and they were married at Calvary Baptist Church on March 31, 1956. Laura and LeRoy were blessed with two children Lynn and Larry. They loved spending time together and listening to her husband’s stories about his career. Laura in her free time loved spending time with her family and friends.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents Robert M. Jesse and Frances L. (Wisdom) Jesse. Her loving husband of 66 years LeRoy Cornwell.  She is survived by her children Lynn Frazee and Larry Cornwell, grandchildren Michelle Alqlaf, Crystal Krohn, and Justin Frazee. Great grandchildren Carissa Alqlaf, Kyra Tate, Noah Alqlaf, and James Krohn. Siblings Anna Westfall, Zelma Lary, Clara Pyles, and Tom Cornwell. Laura will be truly missed by many extended family members and friends.

Services will be in the care of Longview Funeral Home & Cemetery- 12700 SE Raytown Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64149. Visitation will be Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 1pm, with Service at 2pm followed by graveside.
