Lee H. Eichmann

Lee H. Eichmann Jr., a beloved member of the Kansas City community, passed away on November 4, 2025, at Beautiful Savior Nursing Home at the age of 96. Born on May 5, 1929, in Kansas City, MO, Lee lived a life filled with love, dedication, and a strong commitment to his family and community.

Lee began his career at the Kansas City Star newspaper, where he worked as a stereotyper. He later devoted over 20 years of his professional life to Kornis Electric Supply in Lee's Summit, MO, where he cherished the bonds he formed with his colleagues, affectionately referring to them as the "Kornis Klan." His work ethic, reliability, and generous spirit were notable hallmarks of his character that earned him the respect and affection of all who knew him.

An alumnus of Central High School in Kansas City, Lee demonstrated an unwavering commitment to service, notably serving in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 as a Sergeant in the artillery division. This experience shaped his strong sense of duty and loyalty.

Lee was a proud and active member of Calvary Lutheran Church for over 60 years, relishing the camaraderie and meaningful relationships he built within the congregation. His warm personality shone through in every interaction; he made it a point to introduce himself to newcomers at church and loved meeting new people wherever life led him. Known for his quick wit and a sarcastic sense of humor, Lee was a delight to be around, brightening the days of friends and family alike.

Lee found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as spending time outdoors, tending to his yard, and taking great pride in maintaining his home. His presence, humor, and helping spirit are deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Lee is survived by his son Mark Eichmann and daughter-in-law Leslie Eichmann; grandsons Joshua and Jeremy Masters; eight great-grandchildren: Haleigh (Kyle) Thompson, Veronica Masters, Victoria Masters, Sky (Jon) Johnson, Kaelyn Johnson, Remy Masters, Jace Masters, and Evangeline Masters; and one great-great-granddaughter, Akari Kei.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 68 years, Ruth Jeanette Eichmann, and his parents, Lee H. Eichmann Sr. and Marie Barnes Eichmann, and his siblings—Nadine, Virginia, Betty, Tom, Russell, and Bill, as well as his late grandson, Jacob Masters.

A visitation will be held on November 17, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Calvary Lutheran Church, located at 7500 Oak St, Kansas City, MO, 64114. Lee will be laid to rest at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO, with burial commencing at 2:00 PM.

Lee H. Eichmann Jr.’s legacy of kindness, laughter, and community service will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.
