Lois Elane Welch, beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on October 13, 2023, in Belton, Missouri. She was born on May 31, 1943, in Algona, Iowa to Carl & Harmka (Ricks)Harms. She was baptized in July of 1943 at the Ramsey Reformed Church of Titonka, Iowa. Later Lois graduated high school from Titonka Consolidate High School in 1961. After high school Lois met the love of her life Patrick Welch and they were married in 1963. In addition to her devotion to family and friends, Lois had a variety of hobbies and interests that brought her immense pleasure. She loved reading, crochet and other needlework, and word games.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents Carl Harms and Harmka (Ricks) Harms and her loving husband Patrick Welch.
Lois is survived by her children, Elizabeth Welch, Barbara Welch, and Michael Welch. Her siblings Gertrude (Wilbert) Meinders, Harlan (Pamela) Harms, Jerald (Laurie) Harms, Ardith Fisher, and sister-in-law Mary Kay Burtis. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jocelyn and Precious Joi Welch, Stephanie, Skyler and Samantha Houston, and eight great-grandchildren and many other nieces and nephews.
On October 21, 2023, we will gather to celebrate the life of Lois Elane Welch at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Grandview, Missouri. The memorial service will begin at 10:30 AM followed by a graveside service at Longview Cemetery in Kansas City at 11:45 AM. It is a time for all those whose lives have been touched by Lois to come together to honor her memory and find solace in each other's company.
The family would like to thank the staff at Beautiful Savior Nursing Home of Belton, Mo , for caring for Lois these pass few years ,your love and support was appreciated.
