Mrs. Loretta West

Loretta ?Sweet? West, was born August 12, 1921 in Leland, Mississippi to Henry and Mary Charleston, they preceded her in death.
She confessed Christ at an early age. Moving to Kansas City in 1969 she joined the Rock of Ages Missionary Baptist Church. She later united at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church and served on the Mother Board under the pastorate of Rev. Frank McClenton
She received her Certified Nurses Aid degree from Penn Valley Community College in 1971. Loretta was employed at Roanoke Nursing Home for a number of years, until her health began to fail.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Anna Jones and a brother, Charles Charleston.
She leaves to cherish her memory five children: Sammy West, Sandra West-Hardin (Harold), Joseph Johnson, Jr. (Sheila), JoAnn Trotter (Steven), Terry Lee Johnson all of the city; 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
