Marilyn Fund

Marilyn Joyce Fund, 79, of Kansas City, Missouri, died on Tuesday, December 9, at Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care.
She was born on November 30, 1935, the daughter of Louis and Mary (Little) Jerome, in Corning, Kansas, the eldest of seven children. Marilyn attended Goff High School, from which she graduated in 1953.
On August 29, 1954, she married Dale Eugene Fund in Goff, KS.
Marilyn worked many years for AT&T, and retired from Southwestern Bell. She prided herself most on her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother.
Known to her grandchildren as “Mema”, Marilyn filled her time with cooking, needlework, and gardening, and frequently gave gifts of handmade angels to family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dale Fund of Kansas City, MO; daughter Deborah Lynne (C.W.) Moreland of Independence, MO; sons Daniel Louis (Debra) Fund of Topeka, KS and Douglas Eugene (Margo) Fund of Lenexa, KS; seven grandchildren: Mark (Alison) Moreland of Seattle, WA; Jennifer (Ryan) Reed of Houston, TX; Jonathan Moreland of Nashville, TN; Kent Fund of Anaheim, CA; Jacob (Shihoko) Fund of Koniyama, Japan; Jaron Fund of Lenexa, KS; and Megan Fund of Kansas City, MO; step-grandaughters Ashleigh (Stephen) Swartzman of Topeka, KS and Shannon (Lukas) Mace of Topeka, KS; 1 great-grandchild; 2 step-great-grandchildren; three sisters: Helen Slattery of Mayetta, KS; RaEtta McKinnon; and Della (Ralph) Steinlage of Topeka, KS; brother, Louis D. (Brenda) Jerome of Roeland Park, KS; and dozens of loving cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers: Richard Jerome in 2004, and Kenneth Jerome in 2010.
Visitation and funeral services to be held at Longview Funeral Home and Cemetery in Kansas City, MO at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 11. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care.
