Martha I. Ryberg

April 1, 1935 — February 21, 2024

Martha Ryberg, 88, of Lee’s Summit, Mo., was born in Garden City, Mo. on April 1, 1935 to Roy and Goldina Shubert. She passed away at St. Luke’s Hospice House on February 21, 2024 surrounded by family and friends. She married John Ryberg on October 30, 1953. They were married for 51 years until John’s death in 2004. Martha was a wonderful mother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She was an active member of Longview Chapel in Lee’s Summit. She spent many hours playing cards and preparing delicious meals for all. After John’s death, Martha enjoyed an endearing relationship with Richard Helmuth also from Garden City, Mo, They enjoyed traveling, watching Chief’s games, and participating in activities at the Meadowbrook Senior Living facility in Prairie Village, Ks.

Martha is survived by Carla and Daniel Radke of Oro Valley, Az., Regina Gunther of Liberty, Mo., and Karl and Marianne Ryberg of Tucson, Az. Martha was a loving grandmother of five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She has multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and husband, John.  

A memorial services will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 15th, at Longview Chapel Christian Church, Lee's Summit.  A private burial will take place at Longview Cemetery.
