He was a proud Navy Veteran, an avid hunter, a passionate patriot, a dedicated Facebook poster, a dad-joke extraordinaire, a life-time Royals fan, a phenomenal bass singer, a great coach, a video game enthusiast, an aspiring barbeque expert, a closet poet, a tech junkie, and a faithful church goer. But nothing was more important to him than his faith and his family.
He grew up in Lacygne, Kansas and graduated from Prairie View High School, class of 1981. He served 13 years in the United States Navy. He worked as a network engineer at Birch Telecom, Sprint, and Samsung, for the U.S. Census twice, with his final job being at City Union Mission.
He was preceded in death by his father Richard Jacobs, one unborn child and one grandson, Gabriel Becker. He is survived by his mother Connie Williams, siblings Michael & Kim Raley, Chris & Michelle Jacobs and Kelly Jacobs, his wife Carrie Jacobs, his children David and Shelby Becker, Cody and Abby Jacobs, Cameron and Mary Carroll, Heather, Brian, Bethany and Tiffany Jacobs, and his grandchildren Hadassah and Havilah Becker and Elijah Jacobs.
Jake was a sinner saved by grace, an endearing husband, a wonderful daddy, and a star papa.
Finally, and forever, In HIS Grip.
