Mary M. Vance

Mary M. Vance of Independence, Missouri, passed away August 26, 2025.

Sunny was born on October 24, 1952, in Kansas City, Missouri, to the union of James W. Mahan and Lois M. Mahan. Sunny attended Northeast High School as a teen and she enjoyed romance and fantasy novels. She was a true hippie through the ‘60s and ‘70s and had three daughters: Kami Bauer, Wendi Ayres, and Jennifer Vance. She married Ricky D. Vance in 1996.

Sunny was a bartender, exotic dancer, limousine chauffer driver, and a blackjack dealer in Las Vegas. She collected many things, including fairies, anything sun moon and stars, angels, and shoes. She loved spending time with family, practicing her faith and finding strength in the Lord. Above all, she was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother (nana). She will be missed deeply by all.

Sunny was preceded in death by her daughter, Kami L. Bauer and sister Alice J. Knight. She is survived by her husband, Ricky Vance; daughters, Wendi Ayres and Jennifer Vance; Bobbie Gianfrancesco; sons-in-law, Dirk Bauer, David Ayres; Ricky, Megan Vance; and grandchildren: Shane Hyde, Elijah Siems, Mariah, Tyler, Jessica, Sean, Sayra, Melissa, Tiffany; and great grandchildren: Nichole, Liliana, Shane Jr., Jax, Nayani, Aleah, Ariana, Isabella, Avery, Anastacio, Taitum, and Eli.
