Mireille Louise Moore, (95), passed peacefully at home in Linn Valley, KS, on February 4, 2026.

Mireille (Mimi) was born September 16, 1930, to Marcel Alfred and Simone Denise Lanez in St. Gobain, France, and living several of her youthful years in North Africa while her father served in the French military. The years living in North Africa is what led to her disdain of lentils and sweet potatoes, as they were a frequent common staple there.

After her younger sister, Jacqueline, married a US Airforce serviceman and moved to Germany, Mimi would visit her often by train. This is where she would meet her husband of more than 50 years, Floyd H. Moore. Together they would raise five children, have eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.

Mireille was a vibrant lady who loved to laugh, drink her morning tea, and enjoy croissants with butter. Being French, she loved her bread, olive oil, garlic, and butter. We often swore this was her secret to such longevity. She was always classy and elegant with hair done, makeup and jewelry on, and nails polished by herself, even up to a month before her passing. Mimi was known for keeping a clean house, being a fabulous cook and taking care of her kids, often alone while her husband was deployed overseas. She went on to care for several of her grandchildren when they were young. She enjoyed family time and meals when family could come together.

First and foremost, Mimi was a wife, housewife and mother. But her interests, skills and talents were far greater than what most knew her for. She fancied singing and dancing when she was younger and loved opera. She was a great seamstress and made many of her own and children’s clothes when they were younger. And as many women did of the time, she did her fair share of ceramics and enjoyed painting and creating. She was highly skilled in gift wrapping and gift wrapped in a department store when they lived in New York. During this time, she and daughter, Michelle, would model for King’s department store during the holiday season. She enjoyed her time working at Price Chopper in food expo and the deli and made many friends while working there. From this stent, she learned to make the meanest turkey roll ups ever, and they were a coveted item at family gatherings. She was highly creative and passed on this talent through various forms to each of her children.

An avid football fan, she enjoyed watching Chiefs games and loved watching them win and go to Super Bowl. Many Sundays spent in Warrensburg visiting her husband in the veteran’s home, and during football season, football was usually on so they could watch together with her son and daughter. She enjoyed watching old movies, watching figure skating during the Olympics, and listening to her music, mainly Mireille Mathieu and Edith Piaf.

Mimi was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Simone Lanez, husband Floyd Moore, sister Jacqueline Long, and grandchildren Brandon Moore and Kayla Watson. She is survived by her children Phillip Moore (Lori) of Defiance, OH, Mark Moore (Jutta) of Forsyth, MO, Dominique Moore (Carol) of Owasso, OK, Michelle Watson (Kelly) of Linn Valley, KS, and Patrick Moore (Trisha) of Belton, MO. She also leaves her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Her best little buddy and great grandson, Zander, will miss her greatly.

Visitation will be Friday, February 13th at 9am, Memorial Service 10am at Longview Funeral Home and Burial 11am at Longview Cemetery
