Olene Storms, born Stovall, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, at the age of 95. She was born on September 14, 1929, in Memphis, Tennessee. Throughout her life, Olene embraced her community and cherished her family.
A nearly lifelong resident of Raytown, Olene worked as a bookkeeper at Midland Camera and Gretchen's Dress Shop. Olene and her husband, Jess, also owned and operated Stormy Point Resort on Table Rock Lake. After they sold the resort, they owned 80 acre, Stormy Point Farm on 291 Highway.
As a proud member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Olene found great joy in her faith and was an active participant in many community organizations. Her involvement in the Laubach Literacy Club reflects her dedication to education and helping others. She was also a member of the Women’s City Club, the Eastern Jackson County Republican Club, and the Older Women’s League, contributing her time and energy to each group.
Olene is survived by her niece, Suzanne Storms; her sister-in-law, Norma Storms; and her cousins, Robby Camp, Cindy Camp McComb, Chris Camp, and Pam Parrent. Her warmth and kindness will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Oland and Edith Stovall, and her husband, Jess T. Storms. Olene's legacy lives on through her family and the many lives she touched throughout her time here on earth.
