Patricia Highland

Patricia J. Highland, 59, of Grandview, Missouri passed away peacefully on January 25, 2022, at her home with Mary Hogan in Overland Park, Kansas. Mary was Patricia's best friend and second mother to her for so many amazing years.  Patricia was born into the loving home of Wayne I. Highland Sr. and Joann M. (Novak) Highland on September 25, 1962, in Omaha Nebraska.

Patricia attended Avila University and KU where she fell in love with KU Basketball and kept that passion throughout her life never missing a chance to watch a game. She lived a life of faith and love. Her favorite religious figure was the Virgin Mary of Fatima, she lived her life in the love of the Virgin Mary and from that Patricia had a heart of gold with soul to match. She would do anything for anyone, and she never met a stranger. Patricia had a love for cats, Mickey Mouse or anything Disney really, and Barry Manilow. She spent many years working for Hickory Farms as a leading Sales Rep and then worked in Telecommunications with Sprint for over 20 years.  In her spare time, she would enjoy building with Legos and watching her favorite Kansas City teams the Chiefs and Royals.

She was preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Joann Highland, brother Wayne Highland Jr. and her uncle Bud. She is survived by her best friends Mary Hogan, and Karen Schlosser, 1 niece, 1 nephew and many other aunts, uncles, and many other family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Services for Patricia will be in the care of Longview Funeral Home & Cemetery- 12700 SE Raytown Rd, Kansas City, Missouri 64149. Her services will be on Tuesday February 1, 2022, with Visitation beginning at 10am followed by Mass and burial at 11am.

In Lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to Another Chance Cat Rescue in honor of Patricia and her love of cats.
