Patricia Ann Johnson Tucker (Pat) died peacefully at John Knox Village Care Center on the morning of August 16th, 2026.
Pat was born in Kansas City, Missouri on October 9, 1946 to Albert Eugene Johnson and Hazel Claire Johnson. Albert was a career Airforce man while he and Hazel were raising their children, which took Pat and her three brothers to many different places in the country. When he retired, the family settled in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, where Pat graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 1964. Pat loved Lee’s Summit, and life long friends there while raising her two sons with her husband, Bob.
Pat had a lifetime career in procurement. She served the city of Lee’s Summit as well as working at Sprint. Prior to Sprint, she held her most pivotal role being at Midwest Research Institute, where her work contributed to the furthering research to help treat HIV/AIDS. It was there she met many lifelong friends.
Pat’s biggest passion was people. She loved meeting new people, and made friends easily. She loved taking on challenges and projects, and took on helping as a volunteer at the Lee’s Summit History Museum after she retired. She was never without a project, and she thrived when she had problems to help solve.
She loved dogs, and always had a dog with her up until she moved to John Knox Village, where she adopted a cat; Lucy Lou, who has been a great joy and her companion for her last few years.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents & two brothers; Tom and Albert Jr.
She is survived by her sons; Peter (Kelli) and Jonathan (Marie), two grandsons; Erik and Branden; her brother David (Marilyn) and a sister-in-law; Cyndee. In addition there are many loving friends and those she worked with who will miss her greatly.
We are enormously grateful to the nurses and staff at John Knox Village Care Center & Hospice for their care, compassion and devotion to us during Pat’s illness. They are all true angels of mercy.
A Celebration of Pat’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 10th at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in Lee's Summit, Missouri at 11am. Anyone who has a particular memory of Pat they would like to share will be welcome.
