A devoted educator, talented musician, avid cyclist, rabid sports fan, and loving son/partner/brother/friend, Paul Michael Lichtenauer, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022. He was forty-one years old. Born to Peggy and George Lichtenauer, Paul earned a bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Missouri – Kansas City, a master's degree in education from the University of Central Missouri and was attending school at the University of Missouri – Columbia for specialist education in learning technology and design.
With a radiant joy for life and a love of learning, Paul impacted everyone he met. From the students he so deeply cares for in his classroom to the family he cherishes to having energy and a flair for the ridiculous with his bandmates on stage — Paul brought passion, excitement, and enthusiasm to everything he did. Paul approached life with curiosity and open-mindedness, as seen in his ever-changing and constantly evolving music tastes. Currently, you can find him listening to Dua Lipa, Lizzo, Mr. Bungle, Backstreet Boys, Stone Temple Pilots, Flight of the Conchords, and the Wu-Tang Clan… among others.
Paul is survived by his life partner Kim, her son Corey and daughter-in-law Destiny, his grandchildren Makayva and Damien, his mother Peggy, his sister Ginny, and his brother Scott. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, from 6 – 8 pm at Centerview located at 227 Municipal Circle, Raymore, MO 64083. Instead of giving flowers, the family asks those who are able instead to donate to the Raymore-Peculiar Public-School Foundation (https://raypecfoundation.networkforgood.com/).
