Perry James Hestand

Perry James Hestand, a dedicated Plumber for the General Motors Company as a pipe fitter, bid farewell to this world on June 24, 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri. His life journey began on February 27, 1935, in Afton, Oklahoma.

Perry was known not only for professional skills but also for his warmth. He never met a stranger and always had a kind word for everyone he encountered. A jovial nature endeared him to all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him.

In addition to his illustrious career, Perry cherished simple yet precious memories like going on shopping trips with his beloved wife Sharon. Together, they shared countless moments of joy and companionship that will be treasured forever.

Apart from his devoted wife Sharon of 30 years, Perry leaves behind a legacy through his sons Gary and wife Belinda, and Terry Hestand. His brother Clyde Hestand and wife Carol. Nieces, nephews and grandchildren. His presence in their lives brought light and love that will continue to shine brightly even in his absence.

Perry's early years were enriched by the unconditional love of his parents Floyd & Irene Hestand. Their guidance and support helped shape him into the remarkable individual he became.

Outside of work, Perry found immense joy in various hobbies and interests. From meeting new people to riding motorcycles, savoring BBQ delicacies to camping under the stars, he embraced life with an adventurous spirit that inspired those around him.

His military service in the United States Army further exemplified Perry's sense of duty and commitment to serving others.

A visitation in honor of Perry James Hestand will be held at Longview Funeral Home in Kansas City on June 27, followed by a Funeral Service on June 28 at the same location. The final act of laying him to rest will take place at Wills Cemetery in Peculiar on the same day.

As we come together to celebrate Perry's remarkable life and bid him a fond farewell, let us carry forward the memories he created and the values he embodied. May his spirit continue to guide and inspire us always.
