Robert L. Ransburg, a devoted husband and father known for his steadfast nature and memorable presence, departed this life on November 11, 2024, at the age of 88. He was born on November 16, 1935, in Jackson, Mississippi. Robert lived a commendable life, devoting many years to the construction industry before embracing retirement, at which point he ventured into property investment.
His personality was characterized by conservative values, reliability, and a warmth that endeared him to those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Robert took great joy in the simple pleasures of life, with passions that included drinking coffee, watching "Wheel of Fortune," "Judge Judy," wrestling matches, and classic old western films. Robert was known to enjoy coffee so much his loved ones remarked how they are surprised he didn't turn into coffee.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Edith E. Ransburg, and his children: Dr. Robert L. Ransburg Jr., Sheila Ransburg, James Rufus Ransburg, Delisa Thomas Taylor, Guybrett Shores, Claudia Ransburg, William Michael Shaw, Maxine Ransburg Turner, and Mary Ransburg Marfo. He is also survived by his sisters, Luecinda Hill, Ida Mae Lewis, and Darlene White.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Ransburg Sr. and Mattie Ransburg, and several family members, including his siblings: William Ransburg, Johnnie Ransburg, John Henry Ransburg, Arthur Earl Ransburg, Stevie Ransburg, James Ransburg Jr., Lester Ransburg Sr. Additionally, his daughter Barbara Ransburg Harkrader and sons Raymond D. Ransburg and Clifford Ransburg have also passed.
A memorial service in honor of Robert L. Ransburg will be held on November 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at the Church on the Rock Outreach Center, located at 1700 SW Market St, Lee's Summit, MO 64082. Friends and family are invited to gather to pay their respects and celebrate the life of a man who will be dearly missed.
