Ronald Hedrick

Ronald Stephen Hedrick who was born on March 23, 1945, passed on to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday evening, June 22, 2007. Ron was a member of the Linwood Presbyterian Church in Kansas City, Missouri and later became a member of the Ruskin Heights Baptist Church in the Hickman Mills area of KC. He was a current resident of Adrian, Mo. and a former resident Willow Springs, Peculiar and Grandview, Missouri. Graduating from Ruskin High School in 1963, Ron had been a member of the football team and was a saxophone player for the Ruskin High School Golden Eagle marching band that traveled to Pasadena, California to play in the Rose Bowl Parade during the 19591960 school year. He was also a talented bass guitar player, performing with many local Rhythm and Blues bands while working his way through CMSU in Warrensburg, Missouri and later Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana before finishing his college resume at the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Ron was a faithful employee for fifteen years with United Computer and later moving up to become a Systems Analyst for the United States Department of Agriculture. After retiring, he became a member of several local car clubs, where he won many trophies for his classic Corvettes. Many of Ron's most cherished moments were those he spent in the Bienville and Claiborne Parish areas of Louisiana with his many Byrd, Gantt and Watson relatives as well as the many times he visited his Schooler family members in the Fairfax, Missouri area. Ron was preceded in death by his father; Lee Hedrick and his daughter; Dana Michelle Hedrick. Ron is survived by his son Richard and daughter in law Kim Hedrick of Harrisonville, Mo., his daughter; Janiece and son in law Geoff Leigh and two grandchildren; Ellianna and Sophia Leigh of Columbia, Mo., his Mother; Phoneil (Gantt) Hedrick of Jefferson Healthcare of Lee's Summit, Mo., his sister Donna and brother in law Ali Almai of Creighton, Mo., his sister Cathy and brother in law Dr. Mike Little of Lee's Summit, Mo., his brother Stan and sister in law Sharon Hedrick of Peculiar, Mo., his brother Dale and sister in law Olivia Hedrick of Kingsville, Mo., in addition to many nieces and nephews; Cathy, Brett, Madelyn and Reagan Mahurin, Metra Holt, Brooke, Dylan, Emilee and Erin Little, Valerie and Mike Maynard, Nicole Steen and good friends Oscar Buffardi and Gayle (Johnson) Hedrick. Visitation will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at Newcomer's Longview Chapel 12700 S.
