Ruby Adams West, 96, passed quietly from this life on November 6, 2017 in Lee’s Summit, MO. Ruby was born to Charlie and Irene Miller on October 23, 1921 in Manila, Arkansas. She was married to John Adams until his death in 1977, and later married Harvey West until his death in 1991.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Adams; husband, Harvey West; brother, Hughie Miller; sisters: Myrtle Adams, Catherine Aiken, Georgie Ann Decker, Jean Jones; and daughter, LaVerne Watson.
She is survived by sisters: Nettie Whitehead and Loretta Cartenhour; her son, John (Buddy) Adams; son, Avis Watson & wife, Kay; daughters: Caroline Patillo & husband, Manwell, and Elaine Wade; 13 grandchildren; and many great & great-great grandchildren.
She was a faithful member of the Lane Avenue Baptist Church. She loved fishing and time spent at the lake, going to church and her church family, playing cards & dominoes, and she especially loved big family gatherings.
Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 13th, with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm, all held at Lane Avenue Baptist Church, 9003 E 87th St, Kansas City, MO 64138. Burial at Pine Hill Cemetery, Jonesboro, Arkansas, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, John, and her parents.
