Lee's Summit

Stella G. Weldy, 92, of Lee’s Summit Mo, passed away on September 26th, 2025.

Stella was born to Henry and Stella (Glascock) Pabst in Center, Mo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Weldy.

Stella attended High School in Center Mo where she met Charles. They were married in 1948 and shared 72 years of marriage. After starting a family, they became members and raised their children at the First Christian Church in Vandalia, Mo. Stella worked at the Bobbi Brooks Garment Factory and was even a lunch lady for Vandalia Middle School. They moved to Lee’s Summit in 1978, and Stella pursued her interest in Real Estate and became an agent for J D Reece. Charles was a builder, and they worked hand in hand through many building projects for people in Lee’s Summit. They built a duplex and fourplex and bought more properties that they managed through their early 80’s.

Stella loved to travel, and they visited many countries and enjoyed a lot of cruises. They visited Venice, FL where they fell in love with the palm tree lined city and the gulf coast. They bought a home there and spent almost 20 years being snowbirds. Stella loved playing games with her friends and family and enjoyed reading in her spare time. She loved having flower beds that were always beautiful. Stella was an outgoing lady and never had trouble making friends wherever she went. Their faith was fundamental throughout their lives where they attended Westridge Christian Church and Legacy Christian Church.

She is survived by her children, Ron and Bobbi (Brassfield) Weldy, Pam (Weldy) and Randy Elkins, and her youngest daughter Karen Weldy; grandchildren, Matt and Angie Weldy, Adam and Stephanie Weldy, Gabe and Victoria Terry, Ethan and Ashleigh Cole, Tyler and Taryn Wendleton; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Aiden and Lauren Weldy, Clayton Terry, Kaleb Lamb, Solomon, Azariah, and Stella Weldy, Paden, Henry, Wyatt and August Cole.

Services will be held at Legacy Christian Church, October 2nd at 11:00 am.
