In Loving Memory of Stephen Charles Reinhold
It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Steve Reinhold who passed away on July 10, 2026 at the age of 75.
Steve was born on November 4, 1950 in Atchison, KS. He lived his life with lots of love for his family and friends. He never met a stranger. He would talk to anyone. He was a devoted dad and proud papa of his three grandchildren. No one ever had a bad thing to say about him. He treated everyone with respect, if you were a friend you were a friend for life. You could always count on him if you needed anything. He loved to tell his stories even if you had heard them before. He loved a good buffet and going to the lake. He always listened without judgement. You could call him and vent your heart out and he would say “Yep”. He was the only person that could tell so many stories and yet be a man of few words.
He is survived by his daughter Roxane Reyes, son-in-law Damian Reyes, his grandchildren Jordan Reyes, 26, Brooke Reyes, 19, and Hudson Reyes, 13. If you have met him even once then you knew about us. He was proud of each of us for all the little and big things. Also, his older brother Bob Reinold and younger sister Gerri Staniec. Last but not least, his dog Lady. She is the dog he never wanted but could not stop talking about.
Though he passed suddenly, we are comforted by the fact that he knew every day that he was deeply loved. We will miss his sharp dry sense of humor the most but he passed that on to his grandkids. His barking spiders jokes. The “Good Morning” text every morning when you woke up. The traffic report to let you know if you should go a different way to work. His random text saying what show to watch on tv or what he is making for lunch.
A celebration of life will be held at Longview Funeral Home on Friday, July 17, 2026 from 2-4PM. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor his memory, share stories, and celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations for a tree to be planted for the family or given to Catholic Charities of Kansas City.
