Tamara L. Dorsett, 63, of Raytown, passed away February 20, 2021 at her home after a long battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12pm on Saturday, March 6, 2020 at Full Gospel Assembly in Independence.
Tamara was born on November 4, 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri to Morris and Gloria (McCain) Hitchcock. She grew up in Kansas City and was a graduate of Central High School. She worked at a factory while her kids were young and later worked in customer service for over 25 years at USA 800. Her three favorite things were her grandkids, church, and hot rods; she and her husband Michael loved attending car shows and owned a 49 Chevy and a 64 Imperial, which they loved riding around in. Tamara and Michael also enjoyed traveling, often leaving their driveway not knowing where they were headed, but always having a great time.
Tamara was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Morris Hitchcock. She is survived by her husband, Michael, of 30 years; children: Rodney Shoaf, Sandra Cattin, Gloria Wolfe, Carl Dorsett, and Christina Gutierrez; grandchildren: Sebastian Wolfe, Malachi Gutierrez, Junalee Gutierrez, Elizabeth Wolfe, Dixiemae Cattin, and Beau Cattin; a sister, Jana Moran; a brother, Roy Hitchcock; several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
