Mr. Terry Lee Ball

November 19, 1947 — August 25, 2010

Terry Lee Ball, 62, Kansas City, MO., passed peacefully to his eternal home on Wednesday, August 25, 2010, surrounded by his loving family at the Kansas City Veterans Medical Center. Terry fought a courageous battle with cancer for 2 ½ years, but never gave up his easy minded spirit. He was born on November 19, 1947, in Humansville, MO., to the late Elmer C. and Lois Maxine (Ludwick) Ball. Terry accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was a member of the Humansville Baptist Church. His family moved from the family farm outside of Humansville, MO. in November of 1961 to Bolivar, MO., where he met his loving wife Carrol Ann Graves while attending Bolivar High School of which he graduated in 1965. They were united in marriage on September 10, 1967. To this union two wonderful sons were born, Jeffrey Lee and Ricky Lee. Terry began his 30 year career with General Motors (Leeds) in Kansas City, MO. in February of 1967 before being drafted into the U.S. Army in May of 1967. He served his country for two years, of which one year was in Vietnam where he earned a Good Conduct Metal and three Purple Hearts. Terry became a Lifetime member of DAV, Am Vets, and VFW. After his honorable Discharge of Military duties in 1969, Terry continued his career with General Motors, retiring from the Fairfax Plant in 1997. Terry enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing with his brothers, boating and going to he and Carrol’s lake home on Lake Pomme de Terre. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, father-in-law, Alvy Graves, niece, Angela Kaye Ball-Ciston and great nephew, John Jacob Ciston. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 42 years and 11 months, Carrol, sons, Jeffrey Lee Ball, Liberty, MO., and Ricky Lee Ball (Heather), Peculiar, MO., three precious grandchildren, Lindsy, Austin, and Brandon, brothers, Charles L. Ball (Shirley) of Brighton, MO., Dale E. Ball, of Pleasant Hope, MO., sisters, Judy A. Daugherty (Ron) of Willard, MO., Carolyn S. Ball, of Springfield, MO., mother-in-law, Wilma Graves, and brother-in-law, Bill Graves of Bolivar, MO.. Terry also leaves several special nieces and nephews as well as numerous other family members and friends.
