Thomas (Tom) Mahlon Bullock, was born on October 13, 1943, in Arkansas City, Kansas, passed away on March 6, 2025, in Lee's Summit, Missouri. Tom is remembered for his friendly nature, the way he never met a stranger, and his fondness for animals.
Tom attended elementary school in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Jetmore High School (Jetmore, KS) in 1963. He went on to get his college degree in business from Fort Hays State College (now University) in 1967. After college, he began his career in Information Technology, working for Kansas City companies Hallmark Cards, Kansas City Power & Light, Boatman’s 1st National Bank, University of Health Sciences, DST, Kansas City Southern Railroad. After retiring from information technology, he found his perfect and last job as a school bus driver with the Lee’s Summit School District.
Tom married Martha Kilgore from Kinsley, Kansas on January 21, 1967. They were married for 58 years. Together, they raised two daughters, Monica Bullock, Kansas City, MO and Julie Bullock (Royce Burns), Raleigh, NC. Tom was also a proud grandfather to Sydney and Ingrid Burns.
Tom loved attending all the sporting events of his daughters, especially all the summer softball tournaments for Monica and her college games at Avila College. He also enjoyed going to the high school marching band competitions for Julie and the Symphonic Orchestra/Band concerts.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mahlon Bullock and Mary Lou Wagner and his foster mother, Helen Owens.
Services are scheduled for Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Blue Ridge Boulevard United Methodist Church (aka The Ridge), 5055 Blue Ridge Boulevard, Kansas City, MO 64133. Visitation at 10:00am and a service following at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the church or a charity of their choice.
Tom will be missed deeply by his family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
